PSItraffic Train Management
Future solution for rail transportation

Intelligent software for the railroad operations of the future

-
Train Tracking
The tracking data is continuously compared with the schedule and forecast data. This allows arrival times to be determined and delays or track conflicts to be automatically detected. Dispatchers are alerted based on defined criteria.
-
Passenger Information
The system's data forms the basis for real-time passenger information in vehicles, at stations, and on mobile devices. For regular operations and dispatching measures, special messages can be created and automatically selected based on the operational status.
-
Securing connections
The system checks in real time whether transfer connections can be met. If certain limits are exceeded, the dispatcher is alerted and can act accordingly. Train drivers and passengers are automatically informed.
-
Vehicle Management
The vehicle management ensures that the required vehicles are available according to operational needs. It plans and schedules the supply of vehicles to the workshops and controls the parking in the set-up area.
-
Train Routing
Train routing implements the current timetable by timely requesting the setting of the appropriate routes and enabling short-term dispatching decisions. An integrated feasibility check ensures that only executable commands are sent to the signal boxes.
-
Autonomous Train Operation
The TMS calculates the optimal driving strategy and speed, considering short-term events and updates, and sends the data to assistance systems. These systems can intervene semi-autonomously or autonomously in operations, supporting the driver in specific situations.
-
Multiple unit operation
PSItraffic/TMS supports the separation and subsequent merging of combined trains to reach different final stations for scheduling and passenger information.
-
Automatic Conflict Detection and Resolution
PSItraffic detects conflicts on routes or at intersections, informs dispatchers, and suggests solutions for quick operational measures, such as adjusting crossing points or deploying additional trains.

Properties that set new standards
Modularity and openness
The system is based on the modular PSItraffic platform. The software components are flexibly combinable and expandable.
Interfaces to existing systems use industry standards and are continuously adapted. In non-standardized areas, they are openly accessible to ensure secure data exchange.
- Standard interfaces for timetable planning and duty scheduling
- Remote control for signal boxes
- Display, web information
- Redirecting list item
- Quality management system
- Traveler information system
- Depot management system

Simple, intuitive operation
- Route diagrams: Track-accurate visualization of the traffic situation with track infrastructure.
- Line graphs: Visualization of a line's traffic situation
- Time-distance line diagrams: graphical timetable with optional target-actual comparison
Process reliability
Operators of critical infrastructures (KRITIS) must keep their IT security up to date at all times.
PSItraffic/TMS complies with all standards for the development, operation, and maintenance of IT systems in the railway sector.
All processes are certified through a policy system according to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013. IT risks are analyzed, controlled, and minimized through appropriate measures.
Digital Route Atlas – the basis for digital railways
Anyone who wants to benefit from the advantages of digitalization and networking of all systems needs the entire project planning of the track infrastructure in electronic form as a basis. This also includes data that is often hidden deep in the interlocking project planning, e.g. passing loops, flank protection and the resulting route exclusions. In addition, all information from flanking third-party systems must also be included.
- Data collection in standard format. Data should be recorded in common standard formats such as railML so that the data is complete and consistent in a well-documented format. This ensures that it can be reused for follow-up projects.
- Data acquisition via the editor. A graphical editor makes data entry less prone to errors. Inconsistencies between different data sources can be quickly and reliably identified.
- Customized views. It is important to clarify early in the process which data sources are to be integrated for the network coverage, which consumers there are for the data and how the data models differ. PSI Trackplanner supports the creation of track plans in different levels of detail and adapts to project requirements.
